SCWAY Folkstyle Tournaments

If you or your wrestler are looking to compete in Folkstyle this Spring & Summer the SCWAY league is an option for doing so. With inexpensive membership cards ($17.00) and one day tournaments (9:00 am to 2:00 pm with expected 4 to 6 matches for middle and high school wrestlers) $15.00 entry fees with designated remote weigh in sites, it can be some of the best opportunities to get great match and mat time. (you can purchase SCWAY cards at the Wrestling Prep Facility or on www.scway.org or contact Carolyn via text/call on 650 245-3533 or carolyn@wrestlingprep.com)

SCWAY is divided into many zones and each zone may have it’s own tournament schedule. The NUWAY league has long been established but we are coming up on the first full year of SCWAY or the California division of the National League (just as CA-USA Wrestling is part of the National USA Wrestling which is Freestyle & Greco focussed).

Next year we are anticipating more SCWAY tournaments in the Bay Area/Zone 3, however this summer we have the change to take advantage of the highly organized, abundant and excellent competition found in the Central Valley.

Ernie Ciaccio has made the Wrestling Prep Facility a standing location for Weigh In’s for SCWAY events. All of the SCWAY Central tournaments can be weighed in for at 6080 Hellyer Ave, San Jose on Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

The Central Valley under the leadership of Troy Tirapelle and Ian Shaw have put together 9 Tournaments in a row that accept all ages (5 -18) and skill set of wrestlers (D6 HS ages divided into two categories) thru high school.
