Paxton DiBlasi, a Parkville, Mo.-native, has won multiple national broadcasting awards for news and sports video editing, and was the runner-up for the 2013 National Student Journalist of the Year. He has worked professionally with Fox Sports Midwest and ESPN helping produce broadcasts for the Kansas City Royals. DiBlasi is the Video Specialist for the University of Missouri Wresting Program. He is majoring in Broadcast Journalism at Mizzou, and works for KOMU-8 News, the NBC affiliate, in Columbia, Missouri. He does On-Air work as well as working on the broadcast production side of the desk.
DiBlasi was a wrestler in high school for Park Hill in Kansas City, Mo., qualifying for the state tournament three times in his career. During his time, DiBlasi finished in the Top 8 twice, and he was a contributing member to two Missouri State Championships for Park Hill High School. Paxton DiBlasi is also a Bronze Certified Coach. Paxton, son of Barb and Ron DiBlasi comes from a large wrestling family. He grew up wrestling along side his brothers: Colston, Weston and Grayston. All of which are Missouri State Wrestling Champions.
I have known Paxton Diblasi for a number of years as a member of Missouri’s National team. Paxton always worked to be the best he could be. I am excited to hear that he will be active in the development of Wrestling Prep. Paxton defines what Wrestling Prep is all about. As a past Student/Athlete Paxton will be able to help capture our efforts at WP with our main focus on Education followed and supported by the sport of wrestling. His experience in video production will help us show the face of what we are about. It is an honor to work with one of Missouri most supportive wrestling fan who currently showcases as the face of MU WrestlingCoach Billy Mitchell
