Michelle Mckenna is a native of Chicago where she is raising her three children with her husband Bill. Michelle is a registered dietitian with a Masters degree in Nutrition. She has had many experiences from working at a Public Relations firm where she used her nutrition expertise to promote nutrition products to providing outpatient nutrition consulting to patients in health clinics across London. Michelle also spent many years working at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
After the birth of her second child, Michelle turned her attention to childhood nutrition and earned a certificate in Childhood Obesity prevention. This led to consulting with children, parents and families on healthy eating and working in the local middle school running a farm to table program. Through her consulting, she encountered many high school and college athletes that needed guidance for proper eating and performance. Among those athletes was her oldest son who is now a D1 college wrestler. Michelle has worked with him to instill eating habits that have helped him succeed.
It is through wrestling and traveling with her son that Michelle met Carolyn Wester. As the women spoke they realized the need for proper, balanced eating in the youth wrestling arena. There is an importance to understanding balanced eating to maintain weight goals and energy levels in order to succeed in competitions.
