Wrestling Prep, Carolyn Wester and CC Fisher have been holding camps all over the Bay Area since 2006. With the original Camp being at Amador Valley High School and having OTC Coach Ike Andersson, 3X World Champion Sergi Beloglazov and CC Fisher through Santa Clara High School, Palo Alto High School, Los Gatos High School to the Kastl’s Ranch in Half Moon Bay in 2009, to Newark High School, Lynbrook High School to the Facility in 2010 the camps, wrestlers and clinicians have truly evolved. In the summer of 2011, 358 wrestlers participated with clinicians and counselors like Coach Mike Krause, 2x NCAA Champion and UPENN Head Assistant Coach Matt Valenti and 2X NCAA Qualifier & CA CIF Finalist John Hall, 2X NCAA All American & 4X CA CIF Finalist and 3X CA CIF Champion Jason Welch, Olympic Training Center Resident NCAA All American CA CIF State Champion and 3X CA CIF Placer, 2X Jr Pan Am Games Gold Medalist, University Nationals Champion Nikko Triggas, CA CIF Champion Hunter Collins, 2X NCAA All American 2X CA CIF Champion Ryan Flores and many more.
PHILOSOPHY
For the last six summers, we have done everything possible to help wrestlers train and prepare to reach their wrestling goals. The list of wrestlers who have worked, trained, participated in camps, open rooms, resident training, mini camps, clinics, daily training, body positioning classes, team camps, match morning & match nights, college prep & recruiting, nutrition classes and their successes is too long to list. While we have done our very best to document some of this in photos ( over 100 albums available to review by going to http://www.facebook.com/media/albums/?id=721302583 ) it is impossible to list them all. They have been of all age ranges and skill sets and have come from everywhere in California to the East Coast.
Some of what we have learned is that Summer Training is imperative to next season success whether it is for Middle School, High School or College Level. That wrestlers need to learn technique, mat and competition strategy, training techniques, warm up routines in a repetitive and duplicatable manner. That often a wrestler can be shown something once but with out opportunity to review and practice week after week through out the summer that they may not retain and apply what they have learned effectively when needed. Because of this understanding we endeavor to put together a multi faceted program that allows for all of these components to be incorporated.
In addition, we have ascertained that Match experience must be obtained in the summer and off season. In general, we try to find approximately 100 + matches for a wrestler in the off season. To help achieve this goal in a concise effective and NO COST way, we created a Match Night & Match Morning Schedule (based off of CYC and Cali Extreme) that allows a wrestler to get between 5 to 12 quality matches in a two to three hour times frame. We also have year round OPEN MAT wrestling every Sunday at NO COST.
One thing we know definitively is that putting together a Spring, Summer & Fall program that encompasses all the variegated and divergent events, classes, clinics, camps, open rooms is COMPLICATED. It is not simple and it is not simple to comprehend. We apologize up front that there is a lot of information. However, we are happy to answer your questions in person and we greatly encourage you to review all the opportunities and to contact Carolyn via text or phone on 650 245-3533 or carolyn@wrestlingprep.com with any and all questions.

The encompassing philosophy of the Wrestling Prep Camp Program is to provide effective instruction that fits individual wrestlers’ needs in an environment and by instructors who repeatedly coach at the facility. Whether it be annually, two to four times a year or every month, any wrestler who receives instruction through a camp at Wrestling Prep has ample opportunity to receive repetitive training and review from the original clinician or others familiar on what they have learned while adding new technique to the catalogue they already have.
The winning wrestler is not always the one who knows the most but the one who does what they do the best. This is a philosophy we incorporate into the Camps program – we want them to become the best at what they know while teaching them add on progressive and effective new technique.
We provide Summer Instructions in two basic formats, Resident Training and Camps/ Mini Camps. This summer we are holding Five Wrestling Prep Camps. Two of these are week long with both overnight and commuter options and three of these are weekend camps with both overnight and commuter options.
In the summer of 2012 over 300 wrestlers received instruction in the Wrestling Prep Camps/ Mini Camps or Resident Training Formats.
We are VERY happy to Announce the 2012 Match Mornings & Match Nights schedule through August 2012. (more for september & october coming later).
Match Nights & Match Mornings is one of the most effective ways to obtain between 5 and 12 high quality matches in a short amount of time (usually 2 to 3 hours) at no or minimal costs.
In addition, if a wrestler is pinned or tech’d prior to end of 6 minute match – the wrestlers reset and continue the full 6 minutes. There is no elimination or pairing based upon results prior or at match morning. It is the best event possible to guarantee mat time.
In 2011, we had MANY SUCCESSFUL events as chronicled in the below pictures and videos.
Many coaches have asked us for this schedule and we anticipate having as strong of attendance as last year. In addition, if you have an interest in bringing an entire time and participating in camps or clinics or trainings the day before or the day after Match Mornings & Match Nights we are happy to do so. Also, we have mat space for teams to sleep over if they give us a heads up and bring sleeping bags & pillows.
This year we have a long list of Guest Clinicians & Counselors along with Mat & Body Awareness / Positioning Training available. Please do not rely on the Wrestling Prep published schedules as the final word on what is available. Please contact Carolyn directly on 650 245-3533 or carolyn@wrestlingprep.com.
